Here are the items that are NOT backed up when a user selects BACKUP from his control panel. You would think the backup option simply tar's the entire site but its seems selective in what it backs up.

Email accounts are not backed up:

So if the user has 25 email accounts non of those email accounts are backed up? A restore of his site from a tar file does not include his email accounts? Thats pretty dumb! Our user had to recreate all 25 of his email account after the restore. I can tell you he was really quite upset. This includes Horde, Neomail e-mail messages.

DNS records are not backed up.

    1) If the user restored subdomain one also needs to go into the Zone record for the site then re-add all the (A) records to point to the proper ip. This should be included as part of the backup.

    2) The server owner then needs to go into httpd.conf and add *ALL the httpd.conf entires for subdomains provided he/she knows what they are doing, this can be a disaster in itself, good thing i know how.

Webalizer/Analog/Bandwidth stats/subdomain stats/Latest visitors/password protected flags, none of this is backed up!!

Don't know about the other options but these are the features my user was using and they may very well be other things.

    You sure about that?

I moved 20 sites from another server before Nick added the move with password feature to WHM and all that backed up and moved with it except for the A records. Other than a small issue with a XMB database the users had to do nothing.
