The more updates we see to cPanel the more screwed up my httpd.conf looks!

&VirtualHost 207.44.xxx.xxx&
ServerAlias www.merrittdev.com merrittdev.com
ServerAdmin [email protected]
DocumentRoot /home/tmerritt/public_html
BytesLog domlogs/merrittdev.com-bytes_log
User tmerritt
Group tmerritt
ServerName www.merrittdev.com
ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /home/tmerritt/public_html/cgi-bin/
ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /home/tmerritt/public_html/cgi-bin/
ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /home/tmerritt/public_html/cgi-bin/
ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /home/tmerritt/public_html/cgi-bin/
ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /home/tmerritt/public_html/cgi-bin/
ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /home/tmerritt/public_html/cgi-bin/
ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /home/tmerritt/public_html/cgi-bin/
CustomLog domlogs/merrittdev.com combined
ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /home/tmerritt/public_html/cgi-bin/
&/VirtualHost&

Look at all these duplicate ScriptAlias's? This is not right! There is no reason for any site to have so many! I swear. I worked on another server that had the exact thing. This is nuts!!!!!!!!!!! Proof that the cpanel guys have simply lost it! Annette, do you have any complaints dear?

thaphantom -- time to chill. ;)

ozzi may be jumping the gun a bit, but he does have a point. A quick scan though the httpd.conf file showed those extra entries are added, although, I noticed it was only for Domains that have Nameservers. Bit of pain I guess -- not knowing why something is happening always is -- but a few extra lines should not be that big of problem.

Unless, others have noticed this repetition in a lot of &VirtualHost& entries? As I only seen in it ones with Nameservers, YMMV.

Alias /bandwidth/ /usr/local/bandmin/htdocs/
Alias /bandwidth/ /usr/local/bandmin/htdocs/
Alias /bandwidth/ /usr/local/bandmin/htdocs/
Alias /bandwidth/ /usr/local/bandmin/htdocs/
Alias /bandwidth/ /usr/local/bandmin/htdocs/
Alias /bandwidth/ /usr/local/bandmin/htdocs/
Alias /bandwidth/ /usr/local/bandmin/htdocs/
Alias /bandwidth/ /usr/local/bandmin/htdocs/
Alias /bandwidth/ /usr/local/bandmin/htdocs/

&VirtualHost xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx&
ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /home/****/public_html/cgi-bin/
ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /home/****/public_html/cgi-bin/

Yep, we got'em to. Different though from one server to the next.

Can we group these listings as to Domains: with Nameservers, Dedicated IP only, or happening some/all Domains no matter what.

As I only saw it happening with Domains that had assigned Nameservers, I'd like to know if that is the same -or- different, with others.

For us it seems to be random and different on each server. Some are for dedicated ip, some are just other places in the httpd.conf like the bandmin, those lines are at the top of the httpd.conf on one server.

I got a complaint you.... if you hate cPanel so much the get out, and dont let the door hit you where the good lord split ya[/quote:bb199f0638]

Geez, how old are you, about 13? I didnt say i hated it i said there were alot of problems with httpd.conf. If you dont understand my COMPLAINT read the message again. Thats if you can comprehend!

There are a handful of &WHINERS& around who think that bringing up bugs and problems is complaining. &Whiners& never say much only to sit back until they can find the perfect opportunity to flame somebody. Not only that, they tend to copy the statements of others or something else they have seen posted because they cant think for themselves and must at every opportunity, post and re post the same message over and over. I think i have seen &if you hate cPanel so much the get out& posted before. These people need to get a life, and they need to start contributing in general to the community forums and start offering help and support to others. You must have the administration of cPanel and that of your server down to a fine art.

Please offer your expertise!! I am your captive audience otherwise if you dont have anything nice to say just &SHUT UP&!

;)
