    Good Afternoon,

I have a question I added a user to the wheel group. However they still can not su into the box using there cPanel password.

it initially lets them log in to a bash prompt where every command is disabled except su.

Do they need another password to su in or should there cpanel passwword work? I do not want to give them my root password for obvious reasons. Any ideas?

Users shouldnt be using SU at all. Not sure why you want to give users su access.

Hmm... if you are granting su privs to a user, it wouldn't/couldn't hurt to give them your password since they could change it and lock you out anyhow?;)

All I would like to know is how to create additional Superusers. I take it the only real way is to make it a reseller account and make it full access... But even then they dont get SSH root... Please advise on how to make a particular username get su.

    Great question.

What is a conservative way to give one user some additional power rights in terms shell access, moving outside directory, compiling etc.

Security is not a concern for me in my case as this is a managed server.
