    Hello!

I'm certain this is an old bug in WHM, but it crops up now and again...

    1) When a username in WHM is changed, apache goes down
    2) When you try to start it in SSH, it says 'Bad Username' (and it gives the username).

    Here are my questions, please:

    1) What files have to be changed/altered to repair this issue and get Apache restarted?
    2) I didn't see anything in Bugzilla. I'm still on WHM 10

I'd be grateful for any replies.

    Thank you!:)

You have to look into three files:

    1) /etc/passwd
    2) /etc/group
    3) /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf

If this happens everytime you change a username thenswitch to latest STABLE build of cPanel and if the problem persists, fill in a support ticket with cPanel directly so that they can check the continuous problem.

This issue is at bugzilla. I opened a ticket, the solution I found is to disallow Account Modification for resellers, until it get fixed.
