Quite a few of the installers in the new cPAddon system (which is totally awesome by the way, whoever made it!) seem to be seriously outdated eg. Coppermine is still 1.3.3 when the latest (stable) version available is 1.4.5 which I'm sure contains many security fixes since 1.3.3 ...

If it's possible for us to manually update the installers I wouldn't mind doing that as long as I know how it's done and whether doing it manually would cause any conflicts eg. installers getting overwritten by upcp etc

It's done as part of upcp.

I meant when are the actual sources updated .. does someone at Cpanel check once a week/month/whatever if there are new version of the scripts available and then updates the installers or do we have to submit a bugzilla entry to get a particular installer updated ?

No idea, you've have to contact them and ask.

Already tried that, asking them if the insecure versions that are offered for installation include the security updates of the later versions or not - no reply so far (2 days & counting).
