Most likely when you upgrade your Kernel 2.4.20-18.7 has been out for sometime and now Redhat is reporting an update to 2.4.20-19.7

well I thought that upgrading cpanel would do that.

How would I go about upgrading the kernel if it is seperate from cpanel?

If you do not know how to upgrade you kernel manually, you should use: up2date --nox -f kernel
