I wouldn't be too sure as it also states that 12/31/03 is also the EOL for Red Hat Linux 8.0 (Psyche).

The site also states that, "Red Hat may extend errata maintenance for certain popular releases of the operating system."

I have never seen any large sorftware company stop supporting all version with the exeption of the current release. All smart companies support at least 2 versions back.

I personally think someone goofed on those dates.

the answer is easy Migrating to newer versions, I think I wrote before about migration procedures, if you need I can write a complete guide on how to easily migrate to newer versions of redhat.

If you ask your NOC's staffs they will migrate your servers, however some NOCs charge a fee on a per hour basis but migrating a server does not take more than 30 minutes, we at our NOC provide this service as most other NOCs do the same.

However it is a matter of your policies, make sure that you have external backup from your users, data and configurations

P.S. when you choose a NOC you have to checkout their support and services too,

We are located all over not just Las Vegas. This will not be an option!

I read on WHT that Red Hat will stop supporting anything below Red Hat 9 at the end of the year and that they will start charging $69 or so per month for updates/patches.
And who knows what they have in store for us next.

Can anyone confirm this? I couldn't find any information on their website.

FreeBSD is becoming more and more appealing :)

I had upgraded from 7.3 to 9 myself. While the server works find as a whole, there are some things that pop up that I'm still dealing with.
