I am trying to do some development related with authentication in my VPS that comes with cpanel.

I have manage to use the dovecot-auth to authenticate some services, but I may need access to usernames and password hashes ..but I have not been able to figure out where they are stored.

Sorry in advance if the answer is very simple.

I am sure it is not in /etc/shadow :)

For email, the usernames and passwords are stored in /home/username/etc/domain.com location where username is the cPanel username for the account and domain.com is the domain name.
