Where is the MySQL log?

    I think you have to use mysqlbinlog but I have not tried it.

    /usr/bin/mysqlbinlog

    Dumps a MySQL binary log in a format usable for viewing or for pipeing to the mysql command line client

    Also try http://www.mysql.com/doc/en/Log_Files.html

    Unless mysql is start with the right params no logging seems to be done.

    Error messages would be in /var/lib/mysql/HOSTNAME.err

    only fatal error's are logged to /var/lib/mysql/hostname.err
