Create a file called info.php and in it put:
<?php
phpinfo()
?>

Then look to see the path. More than likely yours is in
/usr/local/lib/
unless you have done a manual install of Zend or something like that.

Does turning allow_url_fopen off cause problems with any of the frequently used php scripts ?

Configuration File (php.ini) Path /usr/local/Zend/etc/php.ini

That's what it says in phpinfo, however I can't even find allow_url_fopen in there yet phpinfo shows it. What the hell is up with that?

That's because you probably have an older php.ini file from a previous php install when this feature wasn't available yet.

Then where, and what do I put into the php.ini file, to turn it off?
