    Hey

I was hosting my site on shared hosting account, but recently I just purchased a vps account with whom cpanel, but issue am having now is where to upload my site scripts(WordPress).
After running allghe necessary setup, I tried to upload my site hut it looks like i have to create an account to upload my site there. My confusion there is that, I created an account which then looks exactly like that of shared hosting account cpanel.
Now uploading my site there, will I then assume that my site is on vps on shared hosting?
I don't know if that is the right place to upload my site or is it somewhere in the whom cpanel?

Please, I want my site to be hosted on vps server and not on a shared server to utilise all the benefit of vps.
I don't want to share the server resources with others that's why I purchased it.

    Hello :)

A VPS allows you to have root access and complete control of the server (e.g. software versions, customizations). Creating a cPanel account does not make it a shared server, and it's completely normal to create cPanel accounts on a VPS. You now have access to both Web Host Manager and cPanel, whereas before you only had access to cPanel.

    Thank you.

    Thanks for the reply.
Even as to that, can I still install to the root directory, "
/var/www/html/", if i still need to. If yes, is there a documentation, tutorial, or directives to that?

Once you've completed server setup, and secured the server properly, and created at least one Package, then you'd create your first actual cPanel account.

You don't create accounts where you're asking about.
