    Hi,

I have been studing Linux server and its administration, and eventually come across Cpanel. I install a cpanel demo on my server it works fine so far, but now I doubt that does Cpanel use Exim or Sendmail for its mail Handling.

As It seems to me that Cpanel do the trick here buy copying Exim files as Sendmail and internally using exim for its MTA purpose.

anyone Please let me know, Its very important for me to know which MTA cpanel is using and if I am correct that cpanel is using faked sendmail, than why it is doing like that.

Also can I make it use Qmail as my linux admin suggest qmail is better than those.

    Thanks

    Exim

Yes, it uses EXIm as the MTA....

You can check it as /var/spool/exim and the conf at /etc/exim.conf.

But if you need to edit the conf do it in WHM and not via ssh, cause the next uprade will override the exim settings.

    Hi,

Sorry, but I didn't find any place in WHM where I can change the Configuration for exim.
    Maybe I am missing something.

    Also,

it means /usr/bin/sendmail it shows in Server Stat in Cpanel is just a fake link to exim only  ?
And why they need to do that.

WHM >> Service Configuration >> Exim Configuration Editor
You'd probably have to ask cPanel themselves. Try contacting cPanel support.
