I'm unsure if it's exactly what you're after but Auditing MySQL DB Integrity with OSSEC | /dev/random has a good discussion of the various ways one can monitor mysql changes (although it's a few years old now)
Could you be more specific about which files you are referring to? For example, are you referring to database content, or the MySQL installation itself?
