I have noticed since updating to WHM 78 (78.0.11) the server load averages (short term) have been around twice their normal level -- usually around 0.33 they're now often around 0.67 + ( highest was over 1.5 )

Exploring what is using resources, the highest unusual user is:

    Code:
    MirrorSearch_pingtest
    Specifically:

    Code:
    /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/perl /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/MirrorSearch_pingtest httpupdate.cpanel.net 0.0833333333333333 4 80
Which comes up at 4-5% CPU usage (far higher than any other single process)

    1) Is this something that should be a concern, or is this expected to now give this much server load? (ie does the httpupdate pingtest auto run when I access WHM [and read the server load figures] for instance?

    2) Can I adjust how often or how long this pngtest runs?

    3) Is this high load indicative of a pingtest problem?

    Hello @martin MHC,

Could you open a support ticket so we can take a closer look at the affected system and rule out any issues with the product? You can post the ticket number here and I'll link this thread to it.

    Thank you.
