We get requests from folks that want to change their name based domains over to IP based accounts. Our clients pay for batches of IPs, so this is no problem. Where the problem lies is with using the &Change Site's Ip Address& function in the server's WHM. This works ok but the domain no longer resolves to the domain name. It instead brings up the apache page.

Changing the IP in the DNS Zone for that domain doesn't seem to help either. How are you folks who use WHM/Cpanel change a name based domain to an IP based domain?

    Thanks for any help.

I've changed a few over using WHM... just adjust the IP in the dns zone and in httpd.conf -- it will take a short while for the domain to resolve again.. this is mainly because your ISP has cached the domain to point to the shared IP (which usually points to the apache page), once your ISP has updated and the cache cleared the domain should start to work with the new IP :)

Thanks. :) Figured it all out a while ago anyways. Works like a charm. Although I think the WHM function automatically changes the httpd.conf but it doesn't do the DNS Zone for the domain with the new IP address...
