Whm, cpanel, or dns problem? Please help.

Hello, I have recently switched from a shared hosting package that offered cpanel to a new virtual dedicated server that offers Whm/Cpanel. I have went into Whm and created my first account and can successfully login to cpanel for that domain. However when I create my index.html that I assume would go into public_html all I receive when visiting that domain is the cpanel error screen that displays "There is no website configured at this address".

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

that looks like an average dns problem.

It happens if you have recently changed site's IP address (commonly).

check if you are able to get to the site using the temporary url. Also double check your domain entry in httpd.conf to match the ip in DNS
