    Hello,

I was wondering to know how to move accounts from one WHM with no root access and no ssh, to another with ssh and root access.

I don't want to shutdown my clients site during the migration process.

    Hello,

Say, you want to move accounts from serverA to serverB.

You can take the backup of the account you want to move to serverB from its cPanel on serverA. So just login to the cPanel on serverA and take the account backup using the cPanel -> Files > backupwizard > Backup > Full backup functionality . You can either choose a local backup or backup the account to serverB via SCP or FTP ( make sure you take the full backup of the account ).

Now you need to bring the account backup that you take previusly is uploaded to /home on serverB. Then take "Main >> Backup >> Restore a Full Backup/cpmove file" WHM option on serverB and enter the cPanel user name in the available textbox. It will fetch the backup from /home and process it accordingly.

Refer Some techie thoughts » Account Migration – cPanel Less – DownTime to reduce the downtime involved in account migration.

    Thank you,
    Nibin.

On the new server with root WHM access, you could try WHM > Transfers > Copy an account from another server with account password option. This doesn't require root or SSH access but cPanel access to the account on the old server and WHM root level access on the new server. It might well not work, but if it does work, it solves having to do as many steps as were mentioned by nibin's prior post.
