I'm curious, last time I updated WHM/Cpanel was back when 8.80 Edge was released. My server was updated to that version and then in the settings I set WHM/Cpanel to not update itself. Two or three days ago I noticed my WHM/Cpanel was set to 9.1.0, Out of nowhere it updated. I checked the settings and it's still set to Manual Updates only. Can WHM force an upgrade somehow even if it's set for Manual Updates?

Thanks, I did a search for whm update but didn't find any results regarding this situation. Guess I should have tried some other terms before posting.

Ya whatever. Give me the IP of one of your patched boxes and we will see how secure it is.

Statements like "by now it world have been hacked/taken down/corupted/rooted" (typos are his) are unfounded speculation at best. I cannot prove it wrong personally because I am not aware of any unpatched cPanel installs at this point. I do think it would be a lot easier for me to find one unpatched/unhacked box then it would be for Steve to prove that all unpatched boxes have been hacked.

I am aware of several exploits to OpenSSL, ProFTP and older Kernels that are running unpatched on many cPanel boxes. Should we thank cPanel for saving our ass on those Steve?

Security management is a full-time job and keeping your boxes up to date is important. There is no need to exaggerate.

    Dam u arrogant arnt u

If u was such a super server admin you would not been updated cos Cpanel used the exploit to patch the exploit
