ok, we done the upgrade and all, running WHM 9.2.0 cPanel 9.3.0-C4 no until stable is done, I like all the eye candy with the main screen, but I want my news and update screen to be defualt when I login, is this possible running WHM with the WHM X v3.1.0 skin

    Big ditto here.
Please set it back the way it was.
ye candy should be the "option," not our customer news.

    Thanks,
    Jim

I think a blank screen with the options for both in the little links on top. Faster is better especially if you are on the road and have to log in through your cell phone.

I didn't even think about the alerts, those where great!

I agree now they should bring the news page back or put a alert section on the current frontpage. Why click the extra link every time to see if there is a update.

It makes more and more since when I think about it.

I also noticed that cpanel is working on a way to filter who gets backed up, this is my dream option for years now...

yeah Cpanel, we have a love hate kinda thing :D

I would love to be able to set the WHM news for my resellers as the default. Now they never check the news. I use to be able to post news to them about things, now they never know :(

Any ideas in the future for making this an option and if it is already, how can I do it?

and yet again I miss a warning

Security A Security hole has been discovered in the cPanel's suexec/mod_php handlers. To resolve the problem:
Update apache using easyapache, or the WHM's apache builder by clicking here.
Once apache is updated, you should then update to cPanel 9.4.0 build 10 or later by clicking here. (This is now required as the easyapache update will break /cpanel, and other urls.)

    * RELEASE and STABLE users should wait until Tuesday June 8th (or when this notice is removed) to upgrade cPanel.
** 9.4.0 Builds 1-9 have various problems. It is strongly recommended that you do not use these builds.

    Severity:

You are running an insecure apache setup. You should run /scripts/easyapache or if you are running cPanel 7.1.9 or later (click here) to upgrade to a newer version as soon as possible to avoid your system being compromised.

I sent in a feature request where old foggies like me who hate progress can revert to having the news show on the front page (if they so choose). I sure hope they consider it :D

I am starting to try to remind myself to check news often now, as it seems to be in a security hole love fest lately ;)

I definately want to see these when they come out...

Is there a security type mailing list for Cpanel users? Never seen it...

I definitally agree with this, so much in fact I started another thread about this and it looks like most people that read it are with us on it. Now how to we convince cpanel to do this?

    http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=25283

Vote in the poll and respond there. Hopefully it'll get their attention.

It's already back, on the front page it reports is there are any security risks.

Or is not reporting outside of cpanel security risks?

nah, my gripe is I'd just like to get email alerts of updates and securty problems with cpanel. Freebsd keeps me updated with portaudit alerts for the rest of the system.

whmnews is great if you log in once a day to WHM, but I don't really do that. As someone else said though, I do always check my email.. in fact mozilla does that for me once every 5 minutes.
