I have a client on one of my servers that claims a folder suddenly changed permissions to 000 which then denied access to the users.

They maintain that none of their admins did it and neither I or the data center were involved.

Is there a log file that would show how permissions could have been changed? And better yet, who did it?

    Thanks,
    Dean

Do you have CSF installed? There is an option in it that could do this I believe:

BTW, if you do have CSF installed, you should have been alerted at the server admin email about this happening.

You can also check cpanel logs if the permissions were changed through file manager.
