Greetings, since yesterday our cPanel server has been acting up, first we had some problems with SSL that were solved but now we cannot login to our server:

    /usr/local/cpanel/logs/login_log:
    Code:
200.29.x.x - root [07/14/2011:19:39:17 -0000] "GET /scripts/command HTTP/1.1" FAILED LOGIN whostmgrd: user has their account suspended. login blocked
Tried unsuspending the "whostmgrd" account but it says that root cannot be unblocked, neither it appears in "/var/cpanel/suspended", anyone has faced this issue before?? :(

What is the exact error message when you try to unsuspend the account and how are you trying to unsuspend the account?

Next, is whostmgrd a reseller user you've created to log into WHM or something? Normally, whostmgrd is the WHM process not a WHM user that you can use to log into the machine.

Hi, the user is root!! we cannot login to the WHM with our root user, everyone else on the machine has no problem login in to their cpanel, we have overwritten the root password and the error is the same:

200.29.x.x - root [07/15/2011:19:57:45 -0000] "GET /scripts/command HTTP/1.1" FAILED LOGIN whostmgrd: user has their account suspended. login blocked
200.29.x.x - root [07/15/2011:19:57:48 -0000] "GET /scripts/scripts/command HTTP/1.1" FAILED LOGIN whostmgrd: user has their account suspended. login blocked
200.29.x.x - root [07/15/2011:19:57:50 -0000] "GET /scripts/scripts/command HTTP/1.1" FAILED LOGIN whostmgrd: user has their account suspended. login blocked
200.29.x.x - root [07/15/2011:19:57:54 -0000] "GET /scripts/scripts/command HTTP/1.1" FAILED LOGIN whostmgrd: user has their account suspended. login blocked
200.29.x.x - root [07/15/2011:19:57:59 -0000] "GET /scripts/scripts/command HTTP/1.1" FAILED LOGIN whostmgrd: user has their account suspended. login blocked
200.29.x.x - root [07/15/2011:19:58:59 -0000] "GET /scripts/command HTTP/1.1" FAILED LOGIN whostmgrd: user has their account suspended. login blocked
200.29.x.x - root [07/15/2011:19:59:35 -0000] "GET /scripts/command HTTP/1.1" FAILED LOGIN whostmgrd: user has their account suspended. login blocked

Obviously this is very rare since only the root user is blocked since our customers have no problem login in, when i tried to "unblock" this user this is what i got:

    [root@cp07] /usr/local/cpanel/logs # /scripts/unsuspendacct whostmgrd
Domain lookup of domain 'whostmgrd' yielded user 'root'
    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The user 'root' is not suspended (password is not locked).
If this account is partially suspended, suspend the account
to make the account fully suspended before unsuspending.
    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really don't know whats going on :$

The user here isn't whostmgrd but root, so you need to do?

    Code:
    /scripts/unsuspendacct root
    If that doesn't work, try:

    Code:
    /scripts/suspendacct root
Then re-try unsuspending the account. The whostmgrd part isn't the account that is indicating suspension. whostmgrd is the process that is running for WHM that is outputting the error.

If that still doesn't work, please open up a ticket using the link in my signature and post the ticket number here.

Re: whostmgrd account suspended? - SOLVED!!

The problem was a leftover "root" file in:

    Code:
    /var/cpanel/suspended
That was causing the block when entering with root user, hope this helps someone :D

If the above doesn't work try suspending account and then unsuspend. I got it fixed while I tried this. :)
