why can't I subscribe to these support forum threads?

Am I just ignorant of the feature that allows you to subscribe to threads on this forum?

I see that when you start a thread you can check the box to &Subscribe to this thread&... but it only notifies me of the first response to the thread, even after I've viewed that first response I am not notified of susequent replies.
