Why file inbox bigger than quota

I set up 9 account email for a customer, with 10 Meg quota for each account (total is 90 Meg quota for 9 account ). But 3 day late, I see file inbox in Mail folder is 380 megs. Why this file is too big ?

I want to keep this file is smaller 50 meg , so what I have to do. Thank for any support.

The file at /home/username/mail/inbox is the mail for the default account which has no limit. If you're not using your default account you may want to change it to blackhole.

Can we go ahead and delete this "home/username/mail/inbox" too ?, Will it have any implications on the email accounts under this username ?

If you know there is nothing in the mail box that's wanted, you can delete the file. That will empty the mail box.
