Why is cpanel reinstalling everything?

    Cpanel redid all my kde packages, koffice, and just about every imaginable package on my machine. Why is it doing this - I doubt cpanel will use koffice and x11 libraries! plus about 50 other things it installed.

    CPanel doesn't install kde & anything else you mentioned below. Layer1 / Layer2 of cpanel have never included these.

    My guess is you fired up up2date and told it to grab everything under the sun and it did just as you asked....

    Might want to refine some of those parameters you set with your initial up2date config.

    What I did was run the script latest just like the website said. It did install koffice and kde libs and a bunch of other things. When it starts it says installing cpanel 4.6 layer one. It seems to be going through and fixing apache and other things so I don't know what is up :)

    It got everything from updates.cpanel.net
