    Hello,

In the Exim editor, there is this option:

Send mail from account’s dedicated IP address

Can anyone tell me what are the disadvantages or problems associated with enabling this option? ie: Why isn't this option enabled by default? It would certainly help prevent the entire server from being blacklisted...

    Thanks.

    Howdy,

It's great for users that are going to send out alot of email. But if you have a user that is only sending out a little mail it's best to have the IP go through the main IP address. New IP's on a network that start sending mail but don't send a lot get higher ranking with spamassassin and other anti-spam measures. Also troubleshooting a single IP address is easymode :)

    Thanks!
