why Maldet does not detect malware in . htaccess file

    I don't believe the "Maildet" application is designed to detect every single instance of malware. It uses file hashes and hex based pattern matching to detect threats. Thus, it's more likely to detect an exploited file that has been uploaded to several shared hosting servers than it is to detect a customized attack on an individual .htaccess file.
