I know that is an old thread but its still valid and helped me solve the issue quickly and soooo easily. You just have to remember to reboot ftp on the server as well, i almost forgot... So just make sure after the changes you reboot both configserver firewall and ftp from your vps whm and it should work fine. I did not even have to make any changes to anything locally.

However i have two simple questions and maybe its nothing, but why such a huge hole.. 30000:50000 seems like a pretty large hole, is there a reason for that?
and does it have to be those numbers, can we make the range anything we want as long as the ports are available?
