At PCCC, with help from cPanel, we developed RPM archives for CentOS7 and AlmaLinux8 to update Apache SpamAssassin to version 4.0.
PCCC helps cPanel improve their security and open source software like Apache SpamAssassin, the KAM ruleset, and ClamAV.
At the moment, we are looking for testers to be able to upgrade the software on cPanel so an official release can be done sooner.
DISCLAIMER: THESE RPMS ARE NOT A CPANEL OFFICIAL RPM BUT IT WAS DEVELOPED WITH CPANEL'S PROPRIETARY SOURCE RPM.

PREFACE: We recommend if you are interested to contact us and we will work with the first 4 testers on all their questions.

RPM files can be downloaded from:
CentOS7: https://yum.pccc.com/cpanelrpm/7/x8...ail-spamassassin-4.000000-0.cp1198.x86_64.rpm
AlmaLinux8: https://yum.pccc.com/cpanelrpm/8/x8...ail-spamassassin-4.000000-0.cp1198.x86_64.rpm

Some Technical Info:
The RPM is a drop in replacement. You might consider reading the Apache SpamAssassin announcement (https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/sp...t_release_4.0.x/build/announcements/4.0.0.txt).

In particular, the rules from the foundation and KAM ruleset that require Apache SpamAssassin v4.0.0 will start to work. Users should notice improvements in blocked spam messages due to new rules in place and better international support.

Also, new plugins such as DMARC, DecodeShortURLs, and ExtractText can be enabled though not all external dependencies are included with cPanel by default.

P.S.: If you are using Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and interested in testing Apache SpamAssassin 4.0.0, let us know!
