Hello!

Hope this is the correct forum to post this since WordPress is an application that shows in the browser. If not, I apologise.

Many of my WordPress sites have started showing a dashboard that doesn't load CSS and has only text.

See image:

A developer I hired found a solution. The following code needs to be added in wp-config.php:

define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false );

I verified this works.

But I can't be doing this manually for dozens of sites.

Even a WordPress site I just installed via Softaculous has the same issue.

So, what is going on and who can address this?

cPanel?
Softaculous?
WordPress?

Thanks!

Hey there! You're in the right place for sure, although this doesn't sound like something that would be related to cPanel since it's WordPress and installed through Softaculous.

It sounds like there could be a theme conflict as outlined here:

and that link also provides a nice explanation of what that value does in wp-config.php. In this case, I don't think either cPanel, Softaculous, or WordPress needs to fix it, but there is likely some compatibility issue with the rest of the site code causing this.

Well, I just installed a new site via Softwaculous and selected the latest WordPress theme Twenty Twenty One.

So, I'm not using some obscure theme.

I'll try my luck with the Softaculous team as well.

Thanks!
