WWW directory disappeared !

on one of my accounts the www directory is gone. the public_html is still there but what happend to the www ?

Could you please tell me what could cause this and whats the solution to bring it back ?

The user killed it?
You can restore it easily with

ln -s public_html www


(as root within ~username)
