I just switched to A Small Orange (which uses cPanel) from Freewebs. I'm used to Freewebs' simple HTML editor that I use right on their site. I like cPanel a lot, but the HTML editor is driving me insane. It's always adding all this random crap that I don't want, like "alt" things in all my images and, and it takes out the extra spaces I have. Thus everything is squished together and unorganized in my code, and it's driving me insane. Is there any simple editor with no wysiwyg, just a regular notepad-ish thing? Otherwise, would I have to resort to Notepad and my FTP program?

If you wanted to try one more wysiwyg, a group is working on what used to be Netscape Composer as it's own project at nvu.com.

It's free, and it might do what you need.

You don't have to use the WYSIWYG HTML Editor when editing in File Manager.

Here is a copy of the menu items when you select an HTML file:

Just select the Edit File option and you have a text editor just like Mum used to make ;).
    :)
