Hi,

Do we have an ETA on when the default X and X2 themes will be fully language aware? A customer here has spent time translating the English language file into Spanish only to find it doesn't fully work with X.

No worries but I wouldn't mind having a rough timescale so I can inform them.

Thanks :)

Every couple of weeks, more sections of X are made language aware, a rough estimate would be two to three months for the full skin to be fully language aware.

Please note that many changes will be made to the language files, this is because those files were originally created for cPanel 4 or 5 and cPanel 7 has a lot more features that are not properly represented in such files.

Well, I must say they are progressing very slowly. This should only take them a few weeks if they put 2 people working on it.

I have a question. I have edited the Spanish Language File so that all the strings which are there are translated. Will my changes disappear if cpanel update it?

And also, if I change xskin files will they also be overwritten when an update is done?

It will be a pleasure, just let me know.

Im a simply user not a distributor, just in case you have bad thoughts.

Many of us would be more than happy to help translate. We just need that you make the skin language aware using the appropiate tags everywhere. This should take you not more than a week, and then we (anyone at the forum) will be able to do the translation in one or 2 days.

Hi Bert,

Does it mean we better don't translate anything until the skin is fully aware?

They are not working on this ...
I'm hearing 2 or 3 months from 2 months ago at least...
put 1 people to work on this and will do it in 3 or 4 days.
it's just text replacing, nothing more than this.
you need to sit & start replacing text with variables, and make a file with all the variables. or vice-versa.

I have to say ... thanks again kosmo!
Cpanel should have adopted other theme as the default... anyone well done and lang aware ... that theme was already done and widely used too ...
Also, is very funny to see the website based on a "theme" ... dunno... cpanel is earning thousands ...

anyway, just my 0.02

Regards.

Yes, they don't seem to do any progress.

Come on guys, if you are too busy to do it then get anyone from this forum, pay him a few hundred bucks and I bet you he will do it in less than a week.

It is not that hard ... we translated the whole ensim cp in a week, and ensim is huge compared to your skins.

It would be nice if somebody just could confirm if the language files will be backwards compatible or not.

I don't know what happen with the progress of the translation, I wrote my last post last month and so far no news.

Obviously, some guys don't see the hurry we have 'cause we have non-english speakers.

Im offering my help once again to start translating the cpanel.

Im already translated my vbulletin to spanish in less than a week and I believe cpanel will take less than a week.

If just some one could answer whether the new language file will be backwards compatible or not I would decide whether to translate mine or not.

Even if the new language file have many changes, as Bert said, will we able to apply those changes to our translated file (by just adding the new lines - so it means you would need to identify those new lines very cleary) and will be that "summary" file be compatible with the xskin?

Please, could someone give us a quick answer?

I have been using the language file for quite some time now. When cpanel gets updated only the english file will be updated. So making changes to the your language file will not be a problem. The problem is when you use the editor in WHM to make the changes in your language file in that case the flieds that you have placed in there will be removed as it will not find the same ones that are in the english one.

This my experience on how it works.
