How come when I click File Manager it says "cPanel Evolution"??

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that a different theme/type of cPanel being worked on? I thought this was remake of X which is X3??

Hope a admin can answer as well as you guys. ;)

And now the last upcp removed the x3 theme off the only one server that got it the other day

Looks like we have to wait a little more :p

Hmm.. maybe a few years ago, but its very rare, I've run many sites and my statics show that only about 5% of my users use 800x600 - this is no longer a default setting for any brand computer.
I'll add my 2 cents. While its true, anyone using 800x600 may be in the 5% range, looking at logs to see what resolution is running isn't an indication of what the window size is of their browser. I personally don't view the browser full screen and would guess a lot of people don't. I view a page as small as I can get it without having to right scroll.

This looks real nice. Can't wait for the official release. Will there be a WHM theme update to go with it ;)

Couple questions & comments on the design for the cpanel team:

- Is the help button skinable - I noticed even though you changed themes the help button is one color scheme - shouldn't it be able to match the theme?

- The reveal all boxes / reset box order links need somewhere far better to go, they kill a lot of space at the top and keep important buttons off the visible screen. Think about moving those links, killing the 'cpanel 11' line and moving all the main functionality up a lot.

- The box dragging does not work on IE 6 - you can drag one box once without error, but if you drag a second, you get all sorts of javascript errors and are redirected to the clamav page.

- The notices popup needs a lot of work. The scroll bar isn't against the right side of the box in IE 6 and the header takes forever to load leaving to way to exit. Different code for this or a redesign would be really good.

- Clicking on the stats header to expand the first time does nothing just changes the arrow direction (no expansion), you have to click a second time.

- The design of the stats area is what needs to most work - it is very hard to read the fonts and the design does not look good. Couple suggestions: move all the non-percentage bar entries (which aren't stats) to a seperate 'system info box' which starts minimized (and either right align or left align all of them, not a mix). For the stats don't vary the bar size and maybe think about for each entry putting the title and the actual number on a line and the bar full width below it.

- Fix the home / logout buttons so they have the dots below them or figure out how to make it look like they weren't sloppily put over the background.

- Fix the icons so they all fix 7 across (or 6) but they should all be the same. Some now only have 6 across but aren't well spaced.

The new theme is a huge improvement, but needs a little design and cross browser tweaking before it will be ready.

Yes, that is correct. Adding the .html page for your addon is the way to go. Changes made to the default theme pages will be overwritten on updates (and this is a lot easier than maintain a separate theme).

so when is this going to be live and the new version of cPanel out? Last I heard was just a few weeks, and that was months ago back at hosting con?

That project was scrapped. We're all here at the office right now working on it :) It'll be out as soon as all the changes are polished. There are a couple of finishing touches and features left but it should be out soon.

Probably already aware of it, but in IE7 if you drag a sortable box the thing craps out and all the boxes vanish. (except one)
I've been dragging boxes around for a while and I'm unable to reproduce this on our test machines on 7.0.5700.6. What build of IE 7 are you using?

7.0.5730.11 is the version I am using.

Line 859 character 5 "object required"i should also note the default button state of the slide menu is ^ instead of V. It should load like V and clicking the same should expand the slide. In its current state it is backwards and one has to click ^ to change the direction to V (2x click) to expand the slide.
