The operating systems with which cPanel is compatible are listed at http://cpanel.net/.

Xandros is not listed. This does not mean that cPanel cannot be installed under it and that cPanel won't work under it, but you'd not get any support if you encountered problems.

Thank you. I'm in the process of sorting out which Linux distro to go with; currently I'm leaning towards CentOS having realized Xandros is for desktops not Servers; does Cpanel work well with CentOS?

cPanel seems fine with CentOS. I've been using CentOS 3.6 for a while now without any problems and will soon be getting a new server with CentOS 4.2.

If you go for CentOS 4.x, make sure you disable SELINUX otherwise you'll have problems. And if you have a 64-bit CPU, stick to a 32-bit OS for the time being as you may otherwise experience some problems.
