Since the release of XMB 1.5 RC 5.1, and since I haven\'t seen the latest release in Cpanel, I thought I might make a way to upgrade the script for Web Hosts..

    1) Cd to /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/
    2) rm xmb.tar.gz
    3) wget http://phperror.sourceforge.net/xmb.tar.gz

Your done, I renamed newinstall.php to match install.php that is called via Cpanel\'s script..

I really like the feature of including XMB into Cpanel, but I also like people to be up to date, since there was a security problem not to long ago....

If Developers have already planed this update for the next release, just delete this post please....

It does not work. First you get:

We are going to install this board in /home/user/public_html/testforum
Install Results: X-Powered-By: PHP/4.0.6 Content-type: text/html Thanks for picking XMB!

    Please pick an option below:
    Install
    Upgrade

    then if you click install:

We are going to install this board in /home/user/public_html/
    Error: /home/user/public_html/ already exists

Any Ideas I would love to upgrade this.

Sorry for the incovience. I also removed the link in the script since it doesn\'t work, the login link above works fine.....

    Hello XMB specialists.

I have downloaded the original software which contains 7 language files (Dutch, English, Espanol,
French, Italiano, Polski, Deutsch). The original CPanel distribution contains just English, Mat\'s link provided me with a version containing only 3.

Furthermore I get following error when changing the settings as admin: \"Unknown column \'personstaton\' in \'field list\'\" (using Mat\'s link) and none of the settings is saved. One can\'t change theme, language or password.

Is there any possibility to make a full-featured installation? All languages, all themes, all functions working?

    Thanks in advance.

My question: Can we get a

Alright, just updated the above tar ball with the latest version of XMB including all bugfixes, and added Spanish, French, Italian, and Polish language sets...

Updates install.php with current fixes also, I have left newinstall.php for the people that want to see it...

Cpanel or someone should really work on a way to automaticly upgrade an xmb from an older version to a new one, well, I guess its not really their responceablity...

    Have fun with it..

Sounds good! I\'m a CPanel 4.0 / XMB 1.5 RC4 user. If I wanted to update my local copy (not the entire server - I don\'t have that kind of access), would it just be a matter of dropping in the latest tar and running a few scripts? It\'s a brand-new install and the database tables are already set, so it\'s OK if I blow this one away and/or change it around. Please advise ... and if there\'s a friendly manual somewhere, feel free to point me toward that too!

    Hmm. It [i:13c1605ae2]was[/i:13c1605ae2] too easy!

I dropped in the new files (but I kept my original config.php which has my logins/etc.). This was the full RC5 from the mirror.

    I didn\'t find any newinstall.php file though.

Looked at upgrade.php and saw it can take \"action=1_50RC4\" ... soooo ... tried that and got:

    Creating xmb_attachments..Done
    Moving attachments..Unknown column \'attach\' in \'where clause\'

Somehow I now get the feeling you were referring to the latest beta release. :)

If so, no big - I\'ll give that a shot, though I don\'t know if my DB is now messed up or not (per the above).

Ahh, got the latest beta and NOW I see the newinstall.php ...

In Control Panel (after upgrading from RC4) I changed my settings and got:

    Unknown column \'personstaton\' in \'field list\'

Whee! I\'ll have a look around some more.
Perhaps I should go for a new install (nothing to lose at this point).

    Thanks for all your efforts.

Is there a way to change the default installation theme in one of the files inside xmb.tar.gz (before the program is installed through Cpanel) from Winter Wind to another?

Once registered, XMB is changing over to the new theme correctly (say XMB1) but it is saying Winter Wind at the bottom of the pages even after the change and the login screen comes up with Winter Wind too. I\'m wondering if this theme issue is peculiar to my installation.

Nope that would be standard.... You\'d have to modify the install.php in the xmb.tar.gz to change it... I have on our servers, because I think the default Winter Winds is ugly.....

I tried not to change the package alot, but I\'ll try to post up another install.php to put inside the xmb.tar.gz for you with the default XMB1...

You can choose the default style set from the cp.php once installed.....

Alright.. Insert this install.php into the xmb.tar.gz, replacing the current one, and it will use the default theme xmb1, instead of Winter Winds.....
