    Hello,

I have a problem loading XML files. For a simple XML file it can take 10-13 seconds to load the file. If it is a large XML file the server says that it just times out. Does anyone know what would cause this problem and/or how to fix it?

Below is an example of a simple XML file and it takes a very long time to load.

This next link is the actual XML file that I want to load but it errors out.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Sounds like a coding issue to me, not cPanel related.

It doesn't matter how its coded the first example is about the simplest form of array that you can get. We have tried several ways to no avail. We put both of these on another webserver, the first link takes .3 seconds to load and the second link takes less than 10 seconds. So its most definitely not the coding.

It has to be a cpanel or webserver issue. That's why I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas.

Sounds like something in the server is validating/parsing/rendering the xml. Something like
the way a SSI would do in a shtml, but I dont know if you put in alot of your own XML stuff or are just using generic out-of-the-box Cpanel stuff.

    Hello,

What I'm looking for is a way to slow it down. I'm not the coder, I have a coder on staff that it coding all these custom queries for our DB server for www.FragHype.org

The one that won't load queries the current users STEAM IDs in one of the servers and then checks to see if they are banned/active in several of the leagues.

As I said it takes less than 10 seconds on another webserver. Are there certain settings that would make the validating/parsing time longer in cpanel?

    Thanks,
    Rick

Agreed. I have static XML on quite a few of my websites, and they load nearly instantaneously (even the ~200k XML files).

The .php file extension leads me to believe there is some code likely dynamically generating this page.

I noticed something since yesterday with XML too.. eveyrthing works except tryihng to read XML responses off USPS servers for OSCommerce.. so.. I think this guy has a point.. not a "coding issue".

Did something "automatically" update over the weekend doing with XML stuff or something else?? I even recompiled apache/php, still no go.

AND It was working until the weekend/monday/tuesday!

    Hello,

We have checked all coding issues and recoded the pages. It still has the same problem. If it was a coding issue as well, we would have troulbe on other webservers and it seems to be only ours that is having the issue at this time.

Does anyone else have any suggests because I'm currently at a loss?

    Thanks,
    Rick
