Hello!

I have a customer with three servers. Two of them work as dns and web servers. The last one is only web server.

The way he setup the cluster, all server can see, edit and delete all zones.

¿How he need to setup the cluster ROLES in all servers so the third server only see, edit and delete his own zones?

server 1: Web and DNS
server 2: Web and DNS
server 3: Web only

Thanks!!!

Hello :)

You must remove the other servers from the "Configure Cluster" page in the hosting server, and remove any existing DNS Zones from this server that have already been synced over. You must also ensure the other servers in the cluster are not syncing their zones to the hosting server.

Thank you.

Lets see if i understand.

server 1 and server 2 has to be set the roles on Synchronize changes together.

server 3 has to synchronize changes to server 1 and server 2, but on those two server, server 3 has to be as "read only".

Thats correct?

Could you post a diagram or type up the existing configuration you have in place? You can see examples at:

Guide to DNS Cluster Configuration

Note that zones are designed to be shared if you have clustering enabled. It's not going to be possible to have clustering enabled and keep zones from being shared amongst the servers in the cluster.

Thank you.
