Hi,
I noticed that whenever I issue a new CSR for the purpose of a certificate renewal from a third party (via WHM), a self-signed certificate is generated along the way and automatically installed as soon as Apache is restarted. This is frustrating because this cert will cause errors (untrusted) in most browsers. To fix this I have to install the old certificate until I get the new cert from my cert authority.
Is there any way to generate a CSR without generating or installing the self-signed certificate? I know that if I had kept the original CSR for the cert renewal this would not happen but most cert authohrity out there do request/strongly recommend a new CSR for cert renewal.
Thank you for your support.
