So I've received the email letting me know that my Cpanel SSL certificate will be upgraded shortly however, one of my clients having several iPhones is having trouble accessing his email because he keeps getting the pop error "Cannot verify server identity" and he is unable to add or accept the certificate.

I also told him that in order to turn on SSL trust for that certificate, go to Settings > General > About > Certificate Trust Settings. Under "Enable full trust for root certificates," turn on trust for the certificate - he said he does not have that option on his iPhones.

    My questions are

    1) How long will it take for the server to install the SSL certificate
    2) If after install, will it go away on the clients iphone on its own?
    3) Is there anything else I can do on the server side to speed up the SSL cert?
    4) Can I ask the client to do anything during the interim? Any help will be much appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello @encryption,

Can you confirm if the user is entering their domain name (e.g. domain.tld or mail.domain.tld) as the host in their email application settings? Or, are they entering the server's hostname? If they are entering the server's hostname, then it can take up to 24 hours for that to issue (though generally it happens much faster). You can read about how the hostname SSL certificate is issued at:

The checkallsslcerts Script - Version 78 Documentation - cPanel Documentation

    Thank you.

Michael, many thanks for the suggestion, I should've thought of it. On the flip side, I asked the user to delete and re-add the accounts and it accepted the new cert so the issue is resolved. However, I will ask him to do the above as a permanent fix moving forward.
